AXN partners on Takayama skein
TOKYO — The Sony-backed AXN Mystery Channel has partnered with Hong Kong-based Charis Entertainment to co-produce a new unscripted series for Japanese and Asian auds.Titled “Cyril’s Family Vacation,” the six-episode show will feature Japanese illusionist Cyril Takayama vacationing in Hawaii with his family and astounding the locals. The show is a follow-up to the 2009 strand “Cyril: Simply Magic,” which also aired on AXN, with the target aud being in Japan and Asia. Among the executive producers are Takayama, Charis’ Grace Chen and thesp Andy Lau, with his Focus Group shingle. Shooting is skedded to begin next year with release skedded for the spring. AXN Mystery Channel is managed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan and Sony Pictures Television’s Asian branch.
