YouTube to stream Arte content
BRUSSELS — Franco-German net Arte has inked a deal with YouTube to stream content from its catch-up channel Arte +7.
From November, 10-20 hours of programming in both French and German will appear on a dedicated YouTube channel. Volume will increase in subsequent months.
Content will be accessible only from the respective territories.
Deal is part of a strategy to increase Arte’s online offer. Apps to view content gratis on the iPhone and iPad will also be launched in November.
“In this way Arte is fulfilling its public service mission, proposing a free, legal offer accessible to the greatest number of viewers,” stated channel topper Gottfried Langenstein.
